I just wanted to take a moment and introduce my favorite weekly series to any new readers. Suck it Up Saturday (click to read the very first post) is a compilation of inspiring and motivational quotes that I have collected over time. I expand upon the theme of each week a bit as it relates to what is going on in my life at the moment, but mostly Suck it Up Saturday is meant to be a simple reminder for you. A reminder you that you are tougher than you think and that you really can do anything you put your mind to.
(Bucket Salad: Spinach, tomato, black beans, nutritional yeast, feta cheese, hummus, red pepper, and balsamic vinaigrette)
So without further delay, this weeks inspiration comes from one of my favorite writers and musicians, Jason Mraz. He may be writing about music and the challenges of creating a new album, but to me his words speak to a more general acceptance of noting our failures and moving on. And that is something everyone can relate to, no matter the original subject.
(The return of pumpkin oats: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup canned pumpkin, cinnamon, and 1 tbsp peanut butter)
“So remember this. We are all beginners. We haven’t done this before. You haven’t been you on this day before. Each day is new and we’re all allowed to fall down as often as we need to. It is through these mistakes and fumbles that we’ll likely get it right next time.” ~ Jason Mraz
(Lunch: frozen spinach, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup frozen mango, 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1 cup water, stevia, and 1/4 cup granola)
Everything is worth trying. You may have to put yourself out there, be uncomfortable, and maybe embarrass yourself a bit, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. The only thing holding you back is you, so I hope this edition of Suck it Up Saturday serves as a reminder success lies just beyond what think is impossible or too hard.
Question: What are you beginning today?
