For a couple of days this week I was in my health groove. And by this I mean I managed to capture each and every bucket salad that crossed my lips. I think I subconciously want to photograph salad because it is so colorful. All the other junk I eat…not so much.

But true to form I must admit my eating was less than stellar yesterday. I started out well enough with a scrumptious bowl of oats topped with sunflower seed butter.

But the day quickly unraveled from there. I suppose that when you have fro-yo for lunch covered in as many rainbow sprinkles as possible that is bound to happen. The rest of the days eats escaped the camera (no surprise there), but it was not good. I had big portions and did not listen to my hunger cues. Today is a new day though, and I am moving on.

Partly to blame for my erratic eating habits was the fact that my room went from looking like a nice relic of my childhood where I happened to still sleep at age 22 (I know I am cool, thanks) to a clustered mess.
(The tame version of the mess)
My day of cleaning involved a lot of eliminating junk. I am donating everything I no longer use to the disaster relief efforts in Joplin, MO in light of the recent tornadoes there. They need purses, right?

Things got weird about 7 hours into the cleaning/packing extravaganza when I stumbled upon artwork I made in 8th grade.

(I think I missed my calling.)
Fortunately I had the best company to help me decided what to keep, toss, or donate. My BFF Cat drove down from Fayetteville to hang out with me for a few days before I head east. I love when she comes to visit. There are few people I can tell everything to, but she is definitely one of them. Smutha Mutha and Boomer hung out for a while too but sitting in my shell of a room became a little too tough for my mutha so she headed to bed early.

I made serious headway packing yesterday. I don’t mind telling you I am relieved to be shipping some of my things so that they are ‘out of sight, out of mind’ until I arrive in DC.
Plus, now that all of that is done I have more time to focus on healthy eating, listening to my hunger signals, and leg shaking workouts.
Question: Do you like packing? I kind of do because it gives me a chance to clean out and see what I have. Purging stuff is so refreshing.

I really need to start cleaning out my apartment. The only problem is that I am really lazy!

i leave in 2 days and I still have packing to do. I also have to move a few things to a friends house that i’m leaving here until I get back. people wanna see me before I go and I’m still trying to work full time and work out up until the day I leave.
I love stumbling across old artwork or old assignments! I keep them year after year, just for the purpose of finding them the next year and laughing at them… am I a hoarder for that?

Whenever I go to pack up my things, it takes ten times as long as it should because I look at everything and go “Aww, remember that?!”

I absolutely hate packing. For one it makes me realize how much junk I really have. But the last 2 times I had to pack, well I wasn’t packing because I wanted to. Maybe that makes a difference?
