8 weeks.
That is the time between now and my half-marathon.
Gulp.
Between the holidays, my trip to Kansas, and a nasty cold I have not completed a long run in 2 weeks.
Whoops.
It’s time to get serious, write out a solid plan of attack, and book my flight!
This morning I bought a bunch of new music to get me motivated and headed out into the cold to see what my lungs could handle. Turns out that cough of mine made things a bit difficult and I turned my scheduled 4 miles into a 3.75 walk/run.

Not mad about it.
I plan to spend a lot of time stretching and planking today and then trying that run again tomorrow!

Last night I made a big batch of tomato bean soup to help ward off the cold.

Gross picture, great soup!
I figure having a big pot of soup at the ready will prevent me from mindlessly snacking on processed foods. I didn’t make any new years resolutions this year, but I know that I over-indulged during the holidays and will feel better by making healthier choices. The scale reads pretty much the same as it did before I left which I attribute to my cold killing my appetite.
Question: Did you make any new year’s resolutions?

good for you for listening to your body, what half marathon are you doing?

My New Year’s Resolution is to be the best that I can be, and to let my body tell me what my ‘best’ is…..not a piece of hardware called a ‘scale’!
