Redemption Run

Dinner last night was too delicious not to share. I made a warm salad that contained a bunch of lettuce, leftover tilapia, and roasted butternut squash topped with plenty of red pepper flakes and nutritional yeast.

This morning I woke up with my game face on. That is, after I had coffee and breakfast in bed!

I was determined to show yesterday’s crappy run who’s boss. Rather than trudging through slow miles on the ol’ t-mill I decided to do some speed work.

6 x 0.50 mile intervals with 0.20 walking in between each one. I cooled down with a 15 minute walk since my heart rate was sky high during the intervals.

I also did the fit-test for Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp. I FINALLY got my act together and signed up. I can’t wait to get started on Monday as I think it will really help me focus on cross-training while simultaneously training for the half-marathon.

Now I’m sipping on a smoothie and planning an impromptu weekend in NYC! Josh and I were going to wait until February but I won’t have President’s Day off… so were making it happen ASAP!

Did I mention I got a job? Because I did. Ha! I’m going to miss my unemployment since I get so much done but this girl is excited to no longer be out of work. I feel confident in the company and I am eager to get started. I am also very, very grateful for the quick turnaround time because let me tell you…it’s very scary to live in a place as expensive as DC without and income.

That’s all I’ve got for now. Time to go run a million errands!

    I am doing tina’s bbbc with half marathon training as well, I am looking to pr and hope that this will give me that added strength. Congrats on the new job! so exciting!

    I’m doing the boot camp as well! I think I’m going to try to knock out the fitness test tonight.
