It’s been a week to the day that I got fed up, again, with my weight. When I decided to take control and track again. You can read all about my struggles if you like as I was in the mood to lay it all on the line. Your fitness routine is only as good as your diet and when your diet consists of 3 servings of animal crackers as a snack, well that is just a recipe for disaster.
I digress…So last Wednesday went great. I worked out, ate my recommended calories and went to bed thinking “I got this.” Then there was Thursday and a Cap’s hockey game after work which meant dinner out. We decided on Chipotle and I planned my day around it. Whew, made it through day 2. Then the weekend came along and I was all “ughhhh” but I committed and did the very best that I could. Sure, I went out on Friday night and drank wine for dinner but I rallied Saturday and Sunday and made pretty good choices.
So here we are a week later and 3 pounds lighter! I am super excited to be back in control and making strides towards my goal of not dying during my half-marathon in March. If I can keep up this momentum perhaps I could even PR the Zooma Half-Marathon in June (If you want to run with me send me an email and I can provide you with a discount code!)

Visits to the gym have been frequent but tiring. They occur either at unseemly early hours or late at night. But that is just something that is beyond my control so I’m adjusting. That is also why blogging has been sporadic as of late. I think 2 or 3 times a week is going to be my new normal. I just don’t have it in me to post daily anymore. :/ But I am not going anywhere, I can promise you that. There are many exciting things on the horizion and I can’t wait to share them with you all!
Question: How have you taken control this week?

I took control this week but reducing my portions, adding in more cardio, and getting more sleep.

That is so great! I think those 3 changes are some of the best things you can do for yourself. Keep it up!
Congrats on the Washingtonian love!!!
This week has been all about getting back into a workout routine. I’m already feeling exhausted but love being sore and breaking a sweat again. Wish it was running, but I know I’ll get there.
