It’s early Friday morning and I am wide awake. I have that excited feeling in the pit of my stomach that prevents me from sleeping. My funny little valentine decided that flowers and chocolates are fine but opted to pass them over in lieu of a weekend getaway in the city, NYC. That’s right, we’re going back.
It’s my first day off of work from my new job, which in itself is pretty exciting, and we are headed to the Big Apple as soon as I hit post. The only formal plans that we have are pretty unbelievable. I really don’t know how or why he does it, but he scored us tickets to go see Once on broadway. The only thing better than seeing a Tony award-winning musical is seeing said musical written by one of your favorite artists of all time, Glen Hansard.
Rumor has it they encourage the audience to purchase a drink on stage prior to the start of the show. You hear that, Ma? I’m going to be on a broadway stage!! Are you kvelling yet? Because I am!
On the food front, we have a couple of restaurants picked out. We’ve decided on GustOrganics for at least one of our meals. It’s always so hard to decide where to go. The options in NYC seem endless. I promise I will report back if and when we find anything amazing. 
I’m going to take the weekend off tracking on My Fitness Pal. I will not freak out and binge eat my way through the city, but who really wants to count calories on vacation. You just have to roll with it you know?
That’s all I’ve got. Time to go throw some things in a suitcase and hit the road. I will be back on Sunday/Monday. Until then, friends, have a great weekend!

Oy Vey! I miss my days in NYC so much…….yes, I am Kvelling! But since I can’t be there, I am OK with you going – cause its the next best thing – I will enjoy this trip vicariously through you!
