Last night I rushed home from work and immediately headed for the treadmill to slog through 3 miles. My legs were tight from my quick run the night before and, despite running indoors, the humidity really affected my breathing. I finished up in 32:30 and spent a little while after walking and loosening up my legs on the arc trainer. I have another 3 on the schedule tonight but I am not sure I can do three days in a row. I may push it until tomorrow and do some yoga/weight training tonight.
After I concluded my sweat session I hurried home for a fun activity with my roommate. Once upon a time, many moons ago, we bonded over late night snack sessions of pretzels after late nights out on the town. It’s hard to believe that we’ve known each other for nearly 6 years and have been roommates for almost 3. In just two weeks we will go our separate ways but before that happens we are trying to soak up as much time as possible.
Enter the most aggressive Tuesday night activity ever: pretzel making.
We used this recipe and had quite the time trashing the kitchen!
It was well worth it though. As you can see above, we were aided with a big bottle of wine and the World Cup qualifier on TV. It ended up being a pretty relaxing night, which is really all you can ask for on a Tuesday.
Our finished product is gorgeous if I do say so myself. Sure, they don’t look quite like Auntie Ann’s but they taste delish! I think I ate 50!! And although I am so sad to be parting after all this time together I am glad my roommate and I will have these nights to look back on.
