Whoosh, Wednesday arrived quickly. I blinked and it was the middle of the week!
Today is a very special day in this home. It marks our 2 year anniversary! Hard to believe it’s already been two years. I feel like my relationship is just an extension of myself and it’s hard to remember a time we weren’t a pair. I feel like a very lucky girl and I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for us.
I whipped up some pancakes prior to sitting down to blog to celebrate the occasion.
Although today is quite special, the other days of the week are beginning to blend together. I look at this as a good thing in that I am final settling into a nice routine.
First thing in the morning I drink a cup of coffee to shake off sleep and then immediately change into running clothes. Depending on the distance I plan to wake up anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes before I need to report for work. That gives me enough time to run, shower, and throw on some clothes. The lack of commuting is still amazing and I am grateful every.single.day. for the added 2 hours to my life.
Monday I ran 5 miles, per my training plan, and despite the day off on Sunday, I could still feel some lingering soreness from my 9 miler.
I spent my day working with clients followed by a nice long walk for the little guy. I try to walk him around 6pm to create a shift in my day from work to home. It’s easy to mingle the two since I work from home and I find that taking a walk really makes a big difference.
Dinner was an old favorite. I whipped up chicken pad thai and enjoyed it with a side of beagle.
He has no boundaries.
Yesterday morning I woke up and went through the same morning routine. My run was shorter but also much, much faster!
I love when that happens. It was an eery morning and my new neighborhood was wrapped in the clouds.
I came home and enjoyed some juice to tide me over before meeting my sister downtown for lunch.
We went to a quick order sushi place and I really enjoyed the break in the day. It was nice to get out and see other people, ha!
I worked through the afternoon hours and then whipped up a salad and leftovers for 1 since my guy had school stuff to do.
Initially Gatsby was mad because I wouldn’t share my goodies…
…but he quickly got over it and we sent the rest of the night playing with his airplane ears on the couch.
What a lovebug.
Tonight my sister and I are making our grand return to Weight Watchers. I’ve re-gained all that I lost over the last two years and I am highly motivated to get back down to a comfortable weight. I am not unhappy right now, I just know that I can be faster and fitter with every pound I lose. In addition, it would be nice to glance in the mirror and wholly love what I see.
I will have a report of more tomorrow!
Question: what’s your go-to meal on the weeknight? Pad thai is a definite favorite of mine.
